Frequently asked questions
Everything about how Evertree works. Still stuck? Get in touch.
What is Evertree?
Evertree is a family archive app. You build your family tree across every generation, then gather the life stories, written memories, photos, and videos behind each person — so a family is remembered by more than names and dates.
Is Evertree free?
Yes. The free tier lets you build a tree of up to 15 people with one keeper (editor) and written stories and memories. A one-time Lifetime purchase ($49 at launch, $79 after) unlocks unlimited people and generations, recorded stories, photo and video albums, and more.
How is Evertree different from a normal family tree?
Most family trees stop at names and dates. Evertree captures the life behind each name: a Wall of notes added year after year while a person is living, Stories answered in their own recorded voice, In Memory tributes for those who have passed, and albums of tagged photos and videos.
Can I record my grandparents' life stories?
Yes. With the Stories feature, a person answers AI-suggested life questions in their own recorded voice — audio or video — creating a record only they could leave. Recorded stories are part of the Lifetime archive.
What happens to a person's profile when they pass away?
Their profile opens an In Memory space where the whole family can gather tributes and memories, keeping their place in the tree and their story alive.
Is my family's data private?
Yes. Each family archive is private to the members you invite, with keeper (editor) and viewer roles. Evertree does not sell your data or use your family's content to build advertising profiles.
Do I need a subscription?
No. Evertree is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, so your archive never disappears because you stopped paying. Optional AI credits and add-ons are also one-time.
Can I chat with an AI version of an ancestor?
Not yet — this feature is coming soon. As a family gathers memories, Evertree is building a way for a person's voice to answer as an AI reconstruction grounded only in what the family actually recorded. It is honest enough to say 'I don't know' when something wasn't recorded.
What are AI credits?
AI credits power the AI features that suggest life questions to help you gather stories. They are shared by the whole family, never expire, and any keeper can top them up. Credit packs are $5, $9, or $20 (500, 1,100, or 2,600 credits).
Who can edit a family tree?
Keepers can add and change people, stories, and media; viewers can see what's shared with them. The free tier includes one keeper; the Lifetime archive includes up to three, with more available for $5 each.
